IT Support Specialist

We are looking for a IT Support Specialist to join our team.
About the role:
Based in Christchurch, you will report to the National Technology Manager, working closely with teams nationally across the business to provide effective and timely IT support.
As the IT Support Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations across Leighs Construction. This includes delivering responsive Level 1 and 2 IT support, setting up new equipment and users, resolving technical issues, and assisting with project-based IT tasks. Your approachable manner and problem-solving skills will be key to delivering a high standard of internal customer service.
We’re looking for someone who’s not just great at solving problems but excited about learning, growing, and taking their IT career to the next level in a supportive, forward-thinking team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing Level 1 and 2 IT support across the organisation
- Setting up and maintaining IT hardware and software for new and existing users
- Managing helpdesk tickets and ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Supporting site-based technology requirements for new and existing projects
- Liaising with external vendors for issue resolution and service management
- Assisting with small to medium IT projects and ongoing system maintenance

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
We are looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Level 1–2 IT support within SME or corporate environments
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and hardware/network troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
