We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team.

About the role

Based in Christchurch you will report to the Estimating Manager working closely with teams nationally across Operations, Design and Commercial teams. This role is integral to the success of our projects and supports our mission of creating a better future in construction.

As the Senior Estimator you will play a crucial role in estimates meeting project needs, budgets, and deadlines. By attending meetings, assessing technical challenges, and identifying risks, they play a crucial role in developing competitive bids for a variety of commercial projects to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes that align with our vision and values. This role offers the opportunity to work on interesting tender projects across various procurement models and values, including Traditional Tenders, Design and Build, ECI, and PPP, in locations around NZ.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking full ownership of tenders allocated, ensuring accurate measuring, pricing, and subcontractor assessments are presented
  • Analysing risks associated with tenders and building them into the estimates where relevant
  • Working closely with subcontractors to secure the best price for projects
  • Managing tender drawings and specifications in accordance with company policies and ensuring the correct documentation is being used.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring project programmes are delivered
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to address any issues that may arise during the bid process

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with:

  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction
  • Advanced experience in stakeholder management and service, with a customer-focused approach
  • 5-10 years' proven experience in estimation, with proficiency in electronic tendering systems
  • The ability to work autonomously, managing workloads effectively while maintaining attention to detail
